Privacy notice
This notice describes the current beta build. It will be updated before broader commercial release.
What GuideTone processes
Demo and manual-chord sessions do not require personal information. If you enable a microphone, the browser processes its audio locally for harmony or note feedback; GuideTone does not upload that microphone stream. Microphone features are experimental.
Uploaded songs
Your selected audio file is sent through the GuideTone web proxy to the private analysis service solely to create a chord timeline. The temporary server file is deleted when processing finishes, including on validation or analysis failure. GuideTone does not use uploaded audio to train models.
The beta accepts files up to 30 MiB and analyzes up to 15 minutes. Processing runs in Google Cloud's Tel Aviv region; infrastructure may change during the closed beta and this notice will be updated first.
Data stored on your device
GuideTone stores a short session history in your browser's local storage: date, number of notes played, and accuracy score. After an uploaded song is analyzed, GuideTone may also save its validated chord map and a one-way fingerprint of the file in this browser for up to 30 days, so the same file does not need to be analyzed again. The saved data does not include the audio, file name, or a copy of the selected file.
Saved chord maps are limited in number and older entries are removed automatically. You can remove them, together with session history, by clearing GuideTone site data in your browser.
Operations and retention
Hosting and analysis providers may process technical request information such as time, IP address, status, and diagnostics needed for security and reliability. Audio bodies must not be written to application logs. Temporary uploads are not intentionally retained; operational logs follow the retention settings of the beta infrastructure.
Your choices
You can use Demo or Manual without microphone access or a song upload. You can revoke microphone permission in browser settings and clear locally saved session history and chord maps at any time by clearing GuideTone site data.
